Mark Edward Logan, MD
Functional Medicine, Integrative Medicine
Dr. Mark Logan has developed a medical practice model that focuses on primary prevention of chronic disease through science based, literature supported lifestyle interventions that not only curtail, but reverse chronic disease trends in motivated individuals. Dr. Logan has established a Therapeutic Lifestyle program that sees patients with obesity, hypertension and diabetes mellitus eliminate or lessen their dependence on pharmaceuticals and expensive medical interventions in a relatively short period of time.
Dr. Logan has expanded on the traditional allopathic model to welcome the input of science-based integrative modalities such as Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, Naturopathic Medicine and Energy Medicine, and has assembled a distinguished group of collaborators and consultants who work together to develop treatment plans for patients. This practice model is unprecedented in our community, and is in response to a healthcare system that does not address lifestyle factors or upstream causes of chronic disease.
Dr. Logan has spent the majority of his career as an Emergency Medicine specialist, and since his transition from that area of practice, has completed the Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at The University of Arizona School of Medicine, and become certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine. He feels that while rigorous credentials are vital for any practitioner to possess and maintain, perhaps more important in today’s imploding healthcare environment are an intense curiosity about and pursuit of creative ways to empower his patients and families to reclaim their health, through understanding the emerging research in biochemistry and physiology in the context of the clinic, with a focus on diet and lifestyle.
